From Wednesday next week (21st July), Sophie and Georgia will be attempting to row the length of the navigable, non-tidal Thames in a pair. That means they will be rowing from Lechlade to Teddington. All in aid of raising funds for our new clubhouse. They are aiming to raise £500 through this crazy venture (although really they should aim for a £1000), and hope that you will be crazy enough to sponsor them. You can do so on their Just Giving page: http://bit.ly/30BAy7M

On Sunday 4th November, two crews from Oxford’s Falcon Rowing Club swapped the calm of the Isis for the excitement of racing over the Boat Race course on London’s Tideway.
The Women’s Masters D quad of Julie Summers, Alison Grünewald, Camilla Scarf and Alison Salvesen joined over 250 crews taking part in Veterans Fours Head - a competition for Masters rowers (i.e. those aged 27 or older) competing in crews of either four rowers or scullers.
Falcon won the gold in the women's D quad sculls and silver in the women's E double sculls at the British Rowing Masters Champs regatta in Nottingham on Saturday 16th June 2018,
On Friday 29th September, over 70 juniors, parents and coaches attended the Annual Presentation Evening, to celebrate the successes of the juniors over the 2016-17 season. Many thanks also to club vice-captain Mary-Heather Crowther for representing the rowing committee.
Congratulations to our winning juniors:
Most Promising Newcomer- Toby Pridmore
Most Improved Junior- Liv Cuthbert
Performance of the Year- Martin Benfeghoul, Bronze medal at the Junior Sculling Regatta
Crew of the Year- Anisha Tennant and Megan Tadesse, WJ13 double
On Sunday 14th May, Martin Benfeghoul competed at the National Junior Sculling Regatta at Dorney Lake in the J17 1x.
An excellent time trial saw him finish in 3rd place overall, qualifying for the 'A' final comfortably. In the final, he held the silver medal position for much of the race, but a burst of speed from the Leander Club sculler next to him gave him the silver medal on the line, with Martin taking a well deserved bronze. Martin sculled exceptionally well, and to lose only to the sculler from heavyweight clubs Maidenhead and Leander was a phenomenal achievement.
Preparing for their first Women’s Head of the River race together are the Falcon senior women’s eight. The crew began training seven months ago after a racing squad was brought together by coach Howard Jacobs. The crew will be coxed for WeHORR by Masters race-winning club member Naomi Sharma.
