Join the Falcon Junior Rowing Squad

This page was last updated on 17th January 2024.

If you (or your child/children) are interested in trying rowing, our first advice is to attend one of our beginner courses held through the summer months of July and August. Details can be found here

As the rowing season runs from September to August, we ideally look to take in new recruits at the start of the season, particularly if you are new to the sport. If you are between 11 and 17 on the 1st of September for the year you wish to join, then you are most welcome to apply (although please note that it is your parent or guardian who will have to complete the membership forms for you). If you are outside of this range then either you need to wait a year until you are 11 yrs old, or you are an adult and need to complete the membership application available here.

Once you have attended one of these courses we will follow up with you and discuss the next steps in joining the Falcon Junior Rowing Squad, including providing you with a link to the membership forms, costs, etc. Much of this information is also available on the general information page or the "Join Falcon Juniors" page.

If you missed the summer courses, and we are still not too far into September, then please contact our Junior Coordinator via email here: (parents/guardians only please). We may well be able to accommodate you and get you started, but the sooner you do this the better as there are certain assessments and drills which need completing prior to mid-October.

If we are well into the year, you're new to the sport, and you still feel that need to join us, then sign up to our mailing list so that you can be the first to know when the summer courses become available. An explanation of the courses can be found here. Additionally, drop our Head Coach an email (parents/guardians only please) there may be some private options available to help your junior on the rowing path.

Experienced junior rowers who would like to join Falcon Juniors after September and through the year, and who have not attended a course, please e-mail Juniors' Head Coach Nick Kenworthy-Browne directly at specifying age and rowing experience. He can then discuss what the next steps may be. (Again, parents/guardians only please.)
